Bacteria Control Solutions

Effective bacteria control is essential for high purity water systems, and at AquaNinja, we have extensive experience with various bacteria control methods. In addition to the technologies below, regular sanitization procedures are always recommended for maintaining your high purity water systems.

Successful bacteria control involves effective treatment, the most common of which is ultraviolet (UV) sterilization and final filtration. Often, we achieve the best results by combining these technologies. Final filtration typically starts at 0.2 µm, and some applications will require down to 0.01 µm. These filters ensures that physical bacteria, endotoxins, viruses, and other contaminants are captured in the filter and do not enter downstream processes.

In addition to physical filtration, UV is used for both bacteria control and total organic carbon (TOC) control.  UV is available in various forms depending on the ultraviolet transmittance (UVT) of the solution and the intended effect. In pure water systems, typically, UVT is very high (95% or even 99%+), with 254 nm UV light used for bacteria control and 185 nm UV light for TOC control. AquaNinja is a distributor of Aquafine UV lamps and systems, offering genuine replacement parts and consumables.

There are many facets to controlling bacteria, and we look forward to discussing how to optimize your system performance and maximize the life of your consumables.
